Quran Text — Al-Qamar

54:1 The Hour has drawn near, and the moon has split.

54:2 Yet, when they witness a sign, they turn away and say, “Continuous magic.”

54:3 They deny and follow their whims, but all matters will be settled.

54:4 Numerous warnings have come to them, with messages of deterrence.

54:5 Profound wisdom, but the warnings are of no avail.

54:6 So, withdraw from them. The Day the Caller calls to a terrible thing.

54:7 Their eyes humbled, they will emerge from the graves, as if they were locusts spreading.

54:8 Rushing towards the Caller. The unbelievers will say, “This is a difficult day.”

54:9 The people of Noah denied before them. They denied Our servant and said, “A madman,” and he was rebuked.

54:10 So, he appealed to his Lord: “I am defeated, so help!”

54:11 Then We opened the doors of the sky with pouring water.

54:12 And We burst the earth with springs, and the waters converged for a purpose predestined.

54:13 And We carried him on a construction of planks and nails.

54:14 Sailing under Our observation—a recompense for him who had been rejected.

54:15 And We left it as a sign—is there anyone who will take notice?

54:16 So, how were My punishment and warnings?

54:17 We made the Quran easy to learn. Is there anyone who will learn?

54:18 Aad denied the truth. So, how were My punishment and warnings?

54:19 We unleashed upon them a screaming wind, on a day of continuous misfortune.

54:20 Plucking people up, as if they were trunks of palm trees uprooted.

54:21 So, how were My punishment and warnings?

54:22 We made the Quran easy to remember. Is there anyone who will remember?

54:23 Thamud rejected the warnings.

54:24 They questioned, “Are we to follow one man from among us? Surely, we would then be in error and insanity.

54:25 Was the message sent to him alone among us? He is a wicked liar.”

54:26 They will know tomorrow who the wicked liar is.

54:27 We are sending the she-camel as a test for them. So, observe them and be patient.

54:28 And inform them that the water is to be shared among them; each drink will be provided in turn.

54:29 Yet, they called their companion, and he dared and hamstrung.

54:30 So, how were My punishment and warnings?

54:31 We sent them a single shriek, and they became like crushed trampled straw.

54:32 We made the Quran easy to understand. Is there anyone who will understand?

54:33 The people of Lot denied the warnings.

54:34 We rained upon them a shower of stones, except for the family of Lot, We saved them early morning.

54:35 As a blessing from Us. Thus, do We reward those who give thanks.

54:36 He had warned them of Our onslaught, but they disputed the warnings.

54:37 They even demanded his guests from him, so We obliterated their eyes. “Taste My punishment and warnings.”

54:38 Morning brought them unrelenting suffering.

54:39 So taste My punishment and warnings.

54:40 We made the Quran easy to memorize. Is there anyone who will memorize?

54:41 Warnings had come to the House of Pharaoh.

54:42 They rejected all Our signs, so We seized them with the grip of an Almighty Omnipotent.

54:43 Are your unbelievers better than those? Or do you have immunity in the Scriptures?

54:44 Or do they say, “We are a united multitude, bound for victory”?

54:45 The multitude will be defeated, and they will turn their backs and flee.

54:46 Their appointed moment is the Hour. The Hour is most catastrophic and bitter.

54:47 The criminals are in disarray and madness.

54:48 On that Day, they will be pulled, face-down, into the Fire: “Taste the touch of Hell.”

54:49 We created everything according to a precise measure.

54:50 Our command is but one, as the blink of an eye.

54:51 We’ve destroyed the likes of you. Is there anyone who will reflect?

54:52 And everything they’ve done is in the records.

54:53 Every minor and major detail is written down.

54:54 The righteous will be in gardens and rivers.

54:55 In a seat of truth, in the presence of an Omnipotent King.
