Source Policy

This project deals with sacred text and Islamic knowledge. It must be careful, humble, and transparent. Quanrel.xyz helps people explore the Quran, but it does not replace scholars, teachers, or formal study.

Source priority

1. Quranic text.
2. Established classical tafsir.
3. Recognized scholarly summaries.
4. Historical seerah and asbab al-nuzul reports.
5. Thematic inference made by project editors.

Required distinctions

Every significant claim is identified as one of:

• Directly stated in the Quran
• Found in classical tafsir
• Based on historical reporting
• A scholarly interpretation
• A project-level thematic connection
• A placeholder requiring review

Confidence levels

• primary — Quranic text
• strong — widely accepted scholarly conclusion
• classical — classical tafsir or traditional commentary
• historical — historical report that may require qualification
• inferred — thematic connection inferred by editors
• review_needed — not ready for publication as a firm claim

Editorial rules

1. Do not invent reasons of revelation.
2. Do not state a revelation event as certain unless the source supports certainty.
3. Do not use weak or disputed reports without labeling them.
4. Do not present one scholarly interpretation as the only possible view where legitimate disagreement exists.
5. Do not use inflammatory language about other religions or communities.
6. Do not use the platform for sectarian argument.
7. Keep explanations accessible without removing nuance.
